Well I could be wrong but maybe cuz the clone would disappear after taking damage from it

Doubtful, purely because naruto wasnt even aware that he was damaging his body with the jutsu so the damage obviously wasnt painful

well, since you already spoiled it, it was property of the hidden mist village, but they tried to get rid of the thing while hoping it would rampage in the leaf, so they sealed it inside a captured girl... Kakashis teammate Rin... kakashi rescues rin, but she isn't a proper jinchuriki, who have to be made at birth, not as a young lady, so she loses control of the threetail and dies, releasing the beast, which takes shelter in the lake and wants nothing to do with the petty fighting of humans.

at this point, he lost the second person he cared about most... then he was Minato sensei's right hand like shizune to Tsunade, until minato died sealing the 9 tails in his son, making kakashi promise to look after Naruto.

yes, Sasuke's dumber than Naruto... why else would sasuke trade Kakashi, the copy ninja, for Orochimaru the terrible trainer of the sound 4, elite jonin who lost to a group of leaf genin? yup, that curse mark is a weak power... and sword techniques pale in comparison to the leafs kenjutsu masters, which sasuke could learn rapidly from with his sharingan... nope, he learns bad technique from a guy who swallows swords... and he could learn snake summoning from Anko if he wanted it... but they're not as versatile as kakashis ninja hound or the Uchiha cats. (to be fair, the uchiha cats serve Itachi now and won't partake in the fight between brothers)

really, all sasuke has going for him is the use of a sword as a chakra blade with lightning that he can barely do(which seems kinda redundant cause chidori) the snake summonign that won't work on Itachi as itachi is one of the few who is more powerful than the beast kings... and a curse mark that can't beat Genin.

guy coulda mixed hidden mist jutsu with headhunter jutsu and water blade and lightning wolf, and so much more... prettymuch the only jutsu sasuke can't copy are the dual element release types and bloodlimit jutsu... and who better to teach him than kakashi the copy ninja who has already copied over 1000 jutsu?
